Web 2.0 and Online Rights Conference

Earlier this month, UNI-Europa organized a P&MS conference on web 2.0i and online rights with the support of the European Commission. More than 80 participants from 18 EU countries gathered in Tallinn, Estonia.

Second Life for Human Rights - join us December 15th!

Union Island is going to be taking part in a huge, six day cross-SL festival to mark the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
 
Please come by Union Island on 15 December at 5pm CET. We'll be discussing labour rights and human rights, with Philip Jennings, General Secretary of UNI Global Union, Zuzanna Gorska, socio-political issues expert for Solidarnosc (The Polish union federation Solidarity), and other unionists from around the world.

Spanish union body launches Second Life facility

The Spanish union learning organisation FOREM (part of CCOO) have developed an island in Second Lifei. It's fairly new, but they have already used it for briefings of union activists - showing advice videos on a screen in an SL arena, and following them up with discussion.
